Prattsburgh at the Crossroads
Working together, the future of Prattsburgh is in our hands. The recent pandemic and social unrest in urban settings, coupled with remote work, have made people think differently about rural living. Prattsburgh could be a small, vibrant community that returns to healthy business. We could put a Council in place so that people who want to create a business have a place to get support for their ideas.

Small business is the engine that runs our economy. Helping to develop small business and encouraging owners to come to our town will bring in new interest and income.

To make this happen, Al and Janette have a vision of a rejuvenated future for the town.

Historic Prattsburgh

The Town as it was –
now let’s imagine it in the future …

Al and Janette support and encourage annual community events such as 5k races, bicycling activities and music in the Town Park. These events bring in revenue and people who will spend their money on food and activities as well as give them a chance to get to know our community.

There was recent interest in creating a Wedding Barn in Prattsburgh. Promoting concepts like this could encourage businesses such as bed and breakfasts, restaurants and services such as gas stations and grocery stores to take a chance on our Town.

Prattsburgh can be a yearround destination with seasonal features that heighten in the summer and fall.  Craft breweries and ice cream shops can thrive as we develop tourism and attract more fulltime residents.

There are many artisans who live and work throughout our community. Building an organization like a coop that gives them a place to sell items in one central spot would provide a place for visitors to shop and have a bite to eat.

Prattsburgh’s roots are rural. In 2021, we see an increasing interest in self-reliance and living closer to the land. There are more people off the utility grid and homesteading than ever before. We should invite people to join in the rural lifestyle, and at the same time increase our tax base with new residents and businesses.

Prattsburgh has a new chance for a brighter future.
With Al as Supervisor and Janette as Council member,
they join the Board to make the Rejuvenation of Prattsburgh a reality.
