After purchasing 40 acres in Prattsburgh in 1995, Janette and family enjoyed recreational use until they took up residence in 2002. Her two grown children spent the later part of their childhood here, her son graduating from Prattsburgh High in 2004. He is now an architect with Hunt Engineers, and their daughter is a teacher in Philadelphia. Janette has three grandchildren.

Janette opened her own pet shop in Bath 19 years ago and has been running it successfully ever since. Janette’s secret is that she treats every customer who walks in her door with respect, answering questions and listening carefully to their concerns.

Down-to-Earth Plan
Janette would prioritize infrastructure projects like water and sewer to get the town back on its feet and help make it healthy and vibrant again. She is strong on grants, and would investigate opportunities to fund these projects without leaning on the taxpayers to take care of it.

Vision for the Future
Janette cares about the future of Prattsburgh and wants the town to thrive, and will do everything she can to bring livelihoods like hers (and yours) back into downtown and the surrounding area.

Like Al, Janette would like to encourage entrepreneurs with dreams to open family-friendly places like B&B’s, potteries, wedding barns, and ice cream shops (she still fondly remembers the Robin’s Nest downtown!). Janette is an innovative thinker with proven conflict resolution skills who solves problems every day in her work at the pet shop. Janette doesn’t just have a plan, she has the practical sense to make her plans work.
