Al and his wife Deborah have been residents of Prattsburgh for over 20 years. They have two grown sons, Jonathan and Aaron.

Al has over 45 years of business experience, and currently owns and operates a successful small business (European Spares Ltd.) engineering and manufacturing vintage European motorcycle parts. Prior to European Spares, Al founded Wordingham Technologies, Inc. for which he designed and manufactured components used in opto-mechanical instruments (e.g., lasers, scanners, micro-positioners, etc.).

Lead by Listening
Al knows a lot about the Prattsburgh Town Board and how it works. He served as Town Supervisor from 2011 to 2013. During those two years, he established a Planning and Zoning Board to focus on sustainable growth opportunities. The Water District was a primary focus since it had been totally neglected for 17 years. Al and his Board sold town land and worked with state agencies to get grants and low-interest loans. By running the town like a small business, they were able to reduce Town taxes by 8.3% by 2013.

Throughout his term, Al distributed a monthly newsletter with updates on projects and issues to keep residents informed. He welcomed feedback and concerns from taxpayers then, and plans to do the same when he is re-elected in November.

Encourage Growth
Nothing would please Al more than to see healthy growth and development in Prattsburgh. He has a plan to create a business-friendly environment that can attract restaurants and specialty shops back into town. Events like bike races, festivals, and craft fairs could bring in visitors and revenue, and build our reputation as a charming small town in a peaceful rural setting. Since Al specializes in light manufacturing, he knows what it takes to encourage industrial start-ups.
